This tutorial shows you how to create a smart FAQ bot using the AI Knowledge Studio. This bot will be able to answer customer questions about your business in a natural, conversational way, without you having to build any complex flows.

Step 1: Plan and Gather Your Knowledge

This is the most important step. Your bot is only as good as the information you give it. Create a simple text document and fill it out using our Client Knowledge Template.

At a minimum, include:

  • About Your Business:Ā A short description of what you do.
  • Product/Service List:Ā A list of your offerings with names, prices, and descriptions.
  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):Ā The top 10-20 questions you get asked most often. Include answers about shipping, returns, pricing, and how your products/services work.

Step 2: Create a New Bot

  1. From yourĀ Dashboard, clickĀ New Bot.
  2. Name it “AI FAQ Bot”.
  3. Open the bot to go to the editor.

Step 3: Configure the AI Knowledge Studio

  1. In the bot editor menu, click onĀ AI Knowledge Studio.
  2. Turn theĀ Standalone AI ChatĀ toggleĀ ON. This tells the bot to bypass the Flow Builder and use only AI.

Step 4: Add Your Knowledge

Now, let’s give the bot its brain.

  1. In theĀ Knowledge SourceĀ section, make sureĀ Direct PromptĀ is selected.
  2. Copy all the text from the knowledge document you prepared in Step 1.
  3. Paste it directly into theĀ Direct PromptĀ text field.

Step 5: Customize the Persona (Optional)

In the Global Instructions section, you can give your bot a personality. For an FAQ bot, it’s good to add an instruction like:

Your primary goal is to answer user questions based on the provided text. Be friendly and helpful. If you don't know the answer, say I’m sorry, I don’t have information on that. Please contact our support team.`

Step 6: Save and Test

  1. Click theĀ Save AI Knowledge StudioĀ button.
  2. Use theĀ PreviewĀ button to start asking your bot questions. Ask it the questions from your FAQ list to see how it responds.

Step 7: Install on Your Website

Once you are happy with its performance, click Embed to get the installation code and add it to your website.

You now have an intelligent FAQ bot that can answer customer questions 24/7, freeing up your time. your customers, and saving you time! šŸŽ‰
